Frank 'Bruiser/King Kong Brody' Goodish was truly one of a kind. Standing around 6 foot 8 inches tall and weighing around the 300 pound mark. He could move like a small man when the situation warranted it though, even if he is known for his rough house, brawling style of wrestling more than anything.
Brody was broke into the business by the Von Erich's out of Dallas, Texas, where they ran World Class Championship Wrestling. A territory which later on Brody would help book from time-to-time, thus showing he not only had the in-ring ability but also the brains to work behind the scenes once his career had been over.
On a personal level I can safely say if I had not discovered Bruiser Brody it's debatable whether I would love old school wrestling as much as I do. From the first time I read about him I was enamored and just had to find as many matches and as many stories about this almost mythical man that was Frank Goodish.
Unfortunately Brody would be murdered while working in the WWC territory by a fellow wrestler on July 16, 1988. It was a truly sad day for wrestling and the true circumstances surrounding the tragic act have never been fully revealed.
